KBASHA has been a DJ since he was 13 years old as he was hooked on the underground rave music from a very early age. He has dedicated his life to ART & MUSIC culture.
KBASHA’S first official DJ set was warming up for Kenny Ken & MC Moose back in 2003 BITTER & TWISTED events.
Since then he’s played along side some of the biggest talents & record labels in the Drum & Bass scene!
Drum and Bass music is the heart beat of I AM CULTURE. You can find us at festivals, Drum and Bass nights and soon you be able to download tunes and mixes from our Drum and Bass music shop.
Ever since I can remember I have been in to the urban underground music culture.
In the 8o's it was prodigy and rave music that got me hooked on them mental sounds. The rave culture of hardcore and jungle grew on me and before I was even a teenager my room was covered wall to wall with rave flyers.
i would collect the tape box sets of raves so i could listen to the cutting edge djs and producers, I still have great memories of playing tapes and getting inspired by the likes of Rat Pack, Ellis Dee, Jumping Jack Frost, The Fantazia era and even though I was too young to go raving or understand the underground scene I was still hooked on the music and the whole culture around it...
80'sI have been DJing Drum and Bass SINCE 1994.
In my sets I am always making a point of dropping the old party classics that you don't seem to hear very often and by combining the old classics with the fresh up and coming tunes it gives a good vibe to any rave. I find this style always gets a crowd hyped!
My mixing style is fast, rolling and energetic.
I do not ever plan my sets as I think you have to read a crowd to know what will get them in the skanking mood. I love to switch basslines in my sets creating another vibe out of two tunes.
My first ever set was 2003 alongside Kenny Ken and MC Moose since then I have played alongside and warmed up raves for artists such as Andy C, Noisia, Friction, Calyx, Cold Fusion, Commix, Audio, Donny, Icicle, Loxy and Ink, Brookes Brothers,
Chase and Status, John B, Dillinja, Ray Keith, Bryan Gee, C4C, Prolix to name but a few.
90sI'm an energetic and upbeat vinylist DJ and I come with a good vibe and heavy bassline to get the crowd dancing.
My aim is to always keep the crowd raving from the first tune to the last.
DJing is not just about turning up and playing an average set its about feeding off the hungry crowd and giving them a rave to remember.
